Here I am

Hello readers.

I have taken the plunge in blogging. Don't know what will result but I hope not to bore you too much.

Let me begin with a smiggen from my past.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I was born in Springfield, Ohio. My family lived in New Carlisle just north of Dayton at the time. The small house with the towering poplars along the driveway was home till I was four years old. Only a few memories linger from those days. A big fat red plastic baseball bat propelling a plastic whiffle ball to the farthest reaches of the backyard diamond before a home town crowd who cheered every swing. A large white bunny with pink eyes.

I don't quite remember the move the Englewood, but I do remember the house. Enormous. It seemed so huge to me in the early years. A backyard with no fence. The patio with the awning over it. A bedroom that seemed bigger than the whole house we have moved from.

Baseball remained at the core of my existence. With two diamonds in the neighborhood, it did not take long before I discovered the rest of the baseball addicts. From sun-up to sun-down, every single chance we got, we honed the skills that would hopefully take us to the big leagues some day. Smiling dust covered faces jostling for a turn in the batters box. Life was heaven.

That's all the time we have today boys and girls. I will be back soon with more thoughts and stories.

Bless God

An outlet to publish? It's more than that - it's a window to the world. A window, when opened, that will allow the depth of a soul to be expressed in carefully crafted prose. You can touch a heart by touching the mind, by invoking the imagination, by waking a memory. May God continue to bless your gifts.
